One of my 2009 New Years “resolutions” included meditating more. I looked into various meditation groups to understand more about their meditation practices but hadn’t managed to join any.
One day, someone pointed out to me that my reiki practice was a form of meditation. Indeed it was! Once I made the connection that meditation wasn’t so far outside what I was already practicing, I began to explore meditation with reiki.
One of the simplest practices I’ve incorporated is the gassho hand position meditation. Every morning after I wake up and say “Thank You!” to the universe, I sit with my hands together in Gassho position (palms together) for 10 minutes and relax into my reiki state, which is one of just tuning into the energies of my body and thinking of nothing. I recommend trying this in the mornings and seeing if it makes any difference for you.
